A few piece of sea glass a fun lesson for an eight- year old boy and a dream is how we began designing jewellery, which evolved into the business that is Saltwater. Nearly 19 years ago I thought I would try to show my oldest child how you can create a business out of virtually anything if you put your mind to it.
I even allowed him to choose the item. Well, he chose sea glass, which he used to collect while swimming along the shore of our island. Creating a few simplistic designs, we set off to sell the pieces in Dockyard one Saturday morning and we haven’t looked back since. Designing and selling jewellery to supplement my income was my focus, but the dream to design and sell as a living became a reality when I opened my boutique in October 2012.
With my Mom assisting me in the design creation and managing the boutique, we offer an elegant selection of one-of-a-kind handcrafted design utilizing brilliant colour pallets.
